SUMMARY: These volumes serve as the ultimate historical guide to the abandoned Kings Park Psychiatric Center on Long Island. Originally established in 1885 this hospital grew with the town it inhabited to the point where the residents of the hospital outnumbered those of the town! At one time there were well over 150 buildings on this once self-sufficient farming colony. It underwent several name changes throughout its existence before finally closing its doors in 1996. In the years to follow the buildings gradually fell to decay and ruin, leaving behind long forgotten memories for some and recurring nightmares for others. Although, many structures have been demolished, there are still quite a few whose darkened corridors seem to call out to the many urban explorers and ghost hunters that dare venture into this fascinating part of history.
SPECIAL FEATURES: All three volumes combined contains approximately 3,100 black and white images.
