Books in Progress

Picture
Writing my third novel, "A Ghost In New Orleans," in 2015, while at a hotel in New Orleans, Louisiana.

“I’ve been writing like a madman for the past hour. I must say it was not easy to write the words, let alone think them.” - Jason Medina, The Manhattanville Incident (Brundlefly)

There are close to 50 stories I have written or have been working on over the years, which are ripe for the picking. Some are partially written, others are short stories that I wrote when I was much younger, and then there are those that are simply ideas with no real direction, yet. It is my dream to turn each one into a book, if possible. There will be a few compilations of short stories in one book, as well. I suppose it depends on how much time I have and how long it takes for me to get the job done, especially if I write an average of one book per year. I know I can easily do two per year, if I applied myself. Luckily, being retired does afford me plenty of extra time to write.

Before writing a book, I try to choose from these stories and already established ideas, so I have something to build upon. It mainly depends on the mood I am in. There are a few different genres that interest me, not just horror and history. I do not wish to be trapped into one particular category, such as ghost stories. I really hate the idea of limiting myself and prefer to be versatile and unpredictable. It helps to have a great imagination and a wide variety of interests, which I do. Someday, I plan to write a Western, as well as a few Science-Fiction stories, and believe it or not, even a love story. Considering how vast my imagination can be, as an artist, I know there is no limit to what I can do.

There is a trilogy I am planning to write that actually spawned from a dream I had. It was quite inspiring. There are a few home movies I made in the past, which might make good books, after a few alterations. I also have a multi-part Sci-Fi saga with names based on Biblical terms, as well as another epic saga inspired by stories such classics as J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings and C.S. Lewis' The Chronicles of Narnia. Plus, I would like to write books that are collections of similar short stories, kind of the way Stephen King does sometimes. I think it will be fun.

I hope those of you, who have become my fans and followers, will appreciate each story and not be disappointed at a sudden change of direction, once in a while. I assure you each book will still have the same amount of passion and care that I put into the past books. Rest assured, I will continue to write ghostly tales, from time to time, and each story will always have a touch of history and characters, who are based on real people for that added sense of realism. In case you are not aware, by now, the characters in my stories are usually based on people I know or on myself. I also try to use their names whenever possible, as a small tribute to them for contributing to my life in some way.

To see the list of my upcoming projects simply highlight the "Books in Progress" category and a dropdown list should appear. You can get an idea of what I will be working on in the future.
